Although there is a national criminal database used by law enforcement (National Crime Information Center - NCIC), no such database exists for general public use. We can provide a multi-jurisdictional criminal search that covers 46 states. The results returned for each state comes from a variety of sources, ranging from Department of Corrections to county court records. Please contact us for details. We report non-convictions as far back as seven (7) years. There is no time limit on convictions.

Not all states have a centralize database where criminal court records are stored. Most states still must be searched at the county-level.

Most states offer at least a 3-yr driving record and some offer a 7-yr record. Check with Single Source for more information about the states you might be requesting.

It would be wise to check every location where the applicant has lived or worked in the past seven years. A crime committed in one state will not show up on another state's criminal history records. The same goes for other names used. Be safe - check all places and all names!
